How does it work?

The Zakat Calculator works by allowing you to calculate the amount of Zakat (charitable giving) based on the wealth you possess in different currencies. Here’s how it works:

  1. Select Currency: Choose the currency in which you want to calculate Zakat. The available options include Dollar (USD), Euro (EUR), INR (Indian Rupee), Pakistani Rupee (PKR), Saudi Riyal (SAR), UAE Dirham (AED), Kuwaiti Dinar (KWD), Bahraini Dinar (BHD), Qatari Riyal (QAR), Omani Rial (OMR), and Jordanian Dinar (JOD).
  2. Enter Amount: Input the total amount of wealth you possess in the selected currency. This can include cash, savings, investments, and any other assets that are subject to Zakat.
  3. Calculate Zakat: Click the “Calculate Zakat” button to compute the Zakat amount based on the entered amount and the predefined Zakat rate of 2.5% (2.5/100).
  4. View Result: The calculated Zakat amount will be displayed in the chosen currency, along with the currency symbol. For example, if you selected Dollar (USD) and entered an amount of $1000, the result would show “Zakat: $25.00”.

It’s important to note that the Zakat Nisab (threshold) values for 2023 are as follows:

  • Dollar (USD): $442.06
  • Euro (EUR): €384.56
  • INR (Indian Rupee): ₹33,756.78
  • Pakistani Rupee (PKR): Rs103,159
  • Saudi Riyal (SAR): SAR 1,546.60
  • UAE Dirham (AED): Dh19,996.25

These Nisab values represent the minimum amount of wealth above which Zakat is obligatory. If your wealth is below the Nisab threshold, Zakat is not compulsory. However, it’s recommended to verify the Zakat Nisab specific to your respective country or consult with a knowledgeable authority to ensure compliance with local guidelines.

Please remember that this Zakat Calculator serves as a tool for estimation, and it’s always advisable to consult with scholars or knowledgeable individuals to ensure accurate calculation and fulfillment of your Zakat obligations.
