Linear Weight to GSM Converter
What is Linear Weight?
Linear weight is the weight of fabric per unit length such as per meter or per yard. It depends on the fabric’s GSM and width.
What is GSM?
GSM (grams per square meter) is a measure of fabric weight across one square meter. It helps identify how thick or heavy a fabric is.
How to Convert Linear Weight to GSM
To convert linear weight to GSM, you need to know the width of the fabric.
- For meters: GSM = g/m ÷ (Width in cm ÷ 100)
- For yards: GSM = g/yd ÷ (Width in cm ÷ 91.44)
Example Table: Linear Weight to GSM (Width = 150 cm)
| Linear Weight (g/m) | GSM |
|---|---|
| 150 | 100 |
| 225 | 150 |
| 300 | 200 |
| 375 | 250 |
| 450 | 300 |
