Fabric GSM from Dimensions and Mass
What is Fabric GSM?
GSM stands for Grams per Square Meter. It tells you how heavy or dense a fabric is across 1 square meter of area.
How to Calculate Fabric GSM from Dimensions and Mass
You can calculate GSM by dividing the total mass of the fabric (in grams) by its total area (in square meters).
- Formula: GSM = Mass (g) ÷ (Length × Width) in meters
Sample Table: GSM Based on Dimensions and Mass
| Length (m) | Width (m) | Mass (g) | GSM |
|---|---|---|---|
| 2 | 1.5 | 300 | 100 |
| 3 | 1.2 | 360 | 100 |
| 2.5 | 1.4 | 420 | 120 |
| 1 | 1 | 200 | 200 |
| 1.5 | 1.5 | 450 | 200 |
