Fabric Wastage Area
What is Fabric Wastage Area?
Fabric wastage refers to the portion of fabric that remains unused during the cutting process due to inefficiencies in layout. It’s critical in cost estimation and fabric usage planning.
How to Calculate Fabric Wastage
Use this formula:
- Wastage Area (m²) = Total Area × (1 – Efficiency / 100)
- You can convert the result to square yards using the factor: 1 m² = 1.19599 yd².
Total Area (m²) | Efficiency (%) | Wastage (m²) | Wastage (yd²) |
---|---|---|---|
100 | 85 | 15 | 17.94 |
50 | 90 | 5 | 5.98 |
200 | 80 | 40 | 47.84 |
75 | 95 | 3.75 | 4.48 |
