Fabric Area per Garment
What is Fabric Area per Garment?
Fabric area per garment is the total surface area of fabric required to make one garment. It is typically calculated by multiplying the fabric length and width needed for each piece and summing them up.
How to Calculate Fabric Area per Garment
You can calculate the fabric area using this formula:
- Fabric Area (m²) = Cutting Length (m) × Cutting Width (m)
- You can convert the result to square yards or other area units as needed.
| Garment Type | Approx Fabric Area (m²) | Approx Fabric Area (yd²) |
|---|---|---|
| T-Shirt | 0.8 | 0.96 |
| Dress | 1.5 | 1.8 |
| Jeans | 1.2 | 1.44 |
| Jacket | 1.8 | 2.15 |
