Why did the French women start physical relationships with German soldiers even though they killed them in WW2?

When the Germans invaded France, they seized all the things such as the food and the coal to heat. If you are a mother and your kids are literally starving or freezing to death, and a German soldier offers you some extra bread or a bag of coal. No is very difficult to say. Although these women were treated very mean and punished once the war was over (such as shaving their heads in the street), their stories demonstrate that war complicates every decision.
