Why do people not consider Adolf Hitler a good leader in history?

Adolf Hitler is generally believed to have been one of the worst leaders in the history of mankind due to the incredible number of death and suffering that his decisions brought. The worst thing he did was the Holocaust. Under his direct orders, his government set up a system to intentionally murder around six million Jewish people. They also murdered millions of others who did not fit to his extreme opinions such as people with disabilities, prisoners of war, and anyone who voiced against his government.

Other than that, his ambitions to conquer other countries initiated the Second World War. He disregarded treaties and invaded the countries that were his neighbors such as Poland, bringing the whole world into a war that took more than 70 million lives.

Within Germany, he totally destroyed the democratic system. He immediately upon assuming power removed daily liberties such as the right to free speech, the freedom of a free press and the right to vote with other parties. He was a completely based on fear ruler who used secret police to kill any resistance or protest.

After all, he led his own people to a complete disaster as well. He never gave up even when the war was lost. His obstinacy had caused Germany to be smashed into a physical wreck, its citizens crippled, and the nation split among other nations decades after his death. All his worldview was based on a strong hatred and racism, and this fact meant that his leadership could never have anything but devastation. I’d appreciate an upvote. Thank you for reading!
