What is Tex and Worsted Count (NeK)?
Tex is the weight in grams of 1000 meters of yarn. It is commonly used in the textile industry to measure yarn thickness.
Worsted Count (NeK) measures how many 560-yard lengths of yarn weigh one pound. Higher NeK means finer yarn.
How to Convert Tex to Worsted Count (NeK)
Use the formula:
NeK = 590.5 ÷ Tex
Example:
If Tex = 59.05, then NeK = 590.5 ÷ 59.05 = 10
