Fabric Cost per m²/yd² Calculator
What is Fabric Cost per Square Meter or Yard?
Fabric cost per square meter or yard is the price you pay for a specific area of fabric, based on its weight (GSM) and the price per kilogram. This helps estimate fabric pricing more accurately.
How to Calculate Fabric Cost per m² or yd²
- Step 1: Convert GSM to kg/m² by dividing by 1000.
- Step 2: Multiply by price per kg to get cost per m².
- Step 3: Multiply cost per m² by 0.8361 to get cost per yd².
Formula: Cost/m² = (GSM ÷ 1000) × Price/kg
Cost/yd² = Cost/m² × 0.8361
Example Fabric Cost Table
GSM | Price/kg ($) | Cost per m² ($) | Cost per yd² ($) |
---|---|---|---|
100 | 5 | 0.50 | 0.42 |
150 | 6 | 0.90 | 0.75 |
200 | 7 | 1.40 | 1.17 |
250 | 8 | 2.00 | 1.67 |
300 | 10 | 3.00 | 2.51 |
