How to Calculate Actual Air Density
Use the ideal gas law:
ρ = P / (R × T)
Where:
- ρ = Air density (kg/m³)
- P = Pressure in Pascals (Pa)
- R = Specific gas constant for air = 287.058 J/kg·K
- T = Absolute temperature in Kelvin (K)
Standard Air Density (ISA)
Standard air density is typically calculated using:
- Pressure = 101.325 kPa
- Temperature = 15°C or 288.15 K
