Fabric Area Calculator
What is Fabric Area?
Fabric area is the total surface area of the fabric. It is calculated by multiplying the length of the fabric by its width, and the result is typically expressed in square meters (m²), square yards (yd²), or other area units.
How to Calculate Fabric Area?
To calculate the area of a piece of fabric:
- Measure the length and width of the fabric.
- Convert the measurements to the same unit (preferably meters).
- Multiply length × width to get the area.
For example, if the length is 2 meters and width is 1.5 meters, area = 2 × 1.5 = 3 m².
Fabric Area Conversion Table (based on 1 × 1 unit)
Length × Width | Unit | Area (m²) | Area (yd²) |
---|---|---|---|
1 × 1 | Meters | 1.00 | 1.196 |
100 × 100 | Centimeters | 1.00 | 1.196 |
1.094 × 1.094 | Yards | 1.00 | 1.196 |
3.281 × 3.281 | Feet | 1.00 | 1.196 |
39.37 × 39.37 | Inches | 1.00 | 1.196 |
