How to Convert Wh to Watt?

The conversion between Watt-hours (Wh) and Watts (W) depends on time (hours, h).

Formula:

Power (W) = Energy (Wh) ÷ Time (h)

Example 1: Convert 200 Wh to W

If a device consumes 200 Wh over 4 hours, the power in watts is: W = 200 Wh ÷ 4 h = 50 W This means the device consumes power at a rate of 50 watts per hour.

Example 2: Convert 500 Wh to W in 2 hours

W = 500 Wh ÷ 2 h = 250 W

Key Points:

  • Wh (Watt-hour) is a measure of energy.
  • W (Watt) is a measure of power.
  • To find watts, divide energy (Wh) by time (hours).
