Find a common denominator: 12
9/12 - 2/12 = 7/12
3. Multiplying Fractions
Multiply numerators together and denominators together.
Example:
2/5 × 3/4
(2 × 3) / (5 × 4) = 6/20
After simplifying: 3/10
4. Dividing Fractions
Flip the second fraction (reciprocal) and then multiply.
Example:
3/7 ÷ 2/5
Flip the second fraction: 5/2
Multiply: (3 × 5) / (7 × 2) = 15/14
